Research workshop «Writing Identity: The Construction of National Identity in American Literature» organized by the Department of English Philology, Institute of Foreign Languages, Moscow City University around an academic visit by Prof., Prof. h.c. Dr. Michael Steppat (University of Bayreuth, Germany).

The workshop focused on various aspects of representations of national identity in American literature of different periods. The workshop demonstrated how literature could be used as a space to explore national identity issues.
