International Colloquium “Time and culture in linguistic and literary discourse” is organized by the Department of English Philology, Institute of Foreign Languages, Moscow City University and will be held online on December, 17, 2020.
The Colloquium was inspired by the research workshop «Writing Identity: The Construction of National Identity in American Literature» (2016) organized around an academic visit by Prof., Prof. h.c. Dr. Michael Steppat (University of Bayreuth, Germany).
Colloquium intends to bring together researchers in linguistics and literary studies to exchange new ideas and research results which relate to various aspects of Time and Culture as reflected in language, speech and literature. It is devoted to all aspects of the impact Time and Culture make on language and literature, whether from a synchronic or a diachronic perspective. We foster scientific discussions of current linguistic and literary issues among participants.
Contributions that take an account of modern developments in linguistics and literary studies are especially welcome. Presentations will be limited to 15 minutes (+ 10 minutes for discussion).
There will be one-day online working session. Proceedings will be published and indexed by Russian Science Citation Index.
