LA Compost is a community based non-profit that supports a healthy transistion where food is not wasted but returned to the soil to be used again. LA Compost builds hubs in schools, churches, gardens, and workplaces to give back to the community. They help provide the resources to stop food waste while creating centers of healthy food.
Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden based education to children at Title I schools in Los Angeles. They aim to strengthen the connections between food justice, environmental stewardship, and community health.
Food Revovery Network unites college students, food suppliers, farmers, and local businesses to fight climate change, food waste, and hunger by recovering surplus food and donating it to local nonprofit organizations supporting food insecurity.
Black Thumb Farm is a community farm located in Panorama City. They provide BIPOC youth with leadership skills, mentorship, and healthy produce through hands-on programming on their urban farm. They host community engagment workshops to provide farming education. Interlaced Roots has been able to participate in their workshops and they have been an amazing resource for us.
