Using people's data and informations can affect one socially and personally. Educators and learners should be aware of the ways in which they collect data because it may be biased. Teachers should always encourage their learners to remain ethical when using social platforms, so that they do not misuse nor disclose data. Copyrights is the legal freedom to reproduce, publish, or print an original source. Copyrights impose barriers to people using that certain source, so teachers should encourage their learners to respect those barriers and comply with ethical codes whenever using these social platforms to conduct research. Watch me. Â Learners should not post, comment or send anything that will be regarded unethical, such as sexual comments, revealing pictures or offensive texts. When using this social media platforms to carryout teaching and learning both teacher and student must avoid posting content that will be discriminating, biased or morally objectionable, in order to comply with formal ethical standards of both the school and social platform. Online information can be easily accessed by anyone using the facilities of the internet, therefore it is best to impose a copyright on your work so that others do not reuse it as their own or claim it. Official or potential employers also do check social media accounts of candidates that have applied for employment or something specific, so teachers should monitor the accounts of learners that interact with their social media platforms and guard against improper posts to help prepare these learners for the workplace. Teachers should always encourage the learners to acknowledge the original source whenever using information that they found on social platforms. Learners must becareful to not edit, change or add information on data sets collected on social networks, because this is a crime and goes against the copyright regulations. Educational institutions should help learners to gain access to information or data that is protected by copyrights, to avoid the illegal use or distribution of media and data that they cannot access. For example, the University of Johannesburg provides free access of information on their library and also allows learners and staff members to access information on other websites under their cost.
