Commercial and residential wall wraps are still dominated by foil sarking or bubblewrap.
To avoid the issues related to black or green mouldy plasterboard, wet carpets in winter and a generally unhealthy room, use our Codemark approved and BRANZ tested wall wrap.
With over 10 years of experience choose our products with confidence for practical and value for money installation. Our customers choose a cost effective solution to satisfy passive house criteria for moisture management. Some customers (in Australian climate zones 5-8) will need to consider a condensation risk analysis to check if an additional vapour barrier on the occupant side is required. For commercial steel stud frame walls there are many options to counter thermal bridging of the metal frame. NCC/BCA has poor solutions with wording like "mostly likely" or "should be" near enough. We recommend a more positive attitude to managing thermal bridging, by using a thin PIR board on the occupant side of the frame.
Overall wall thickness is 100mm plus external finish.
Build-Up
Inside Air
10-13 mm Plasterboard (or final finish)
10-30 mm service Cavity (good hold point to do blower door test)
13 or 20mm DeSilvaLine PIR board (optional- acts as thermal break, air barrier and extra R0.6-1.0 insulation)
63-90 mm Steel or Timber Stud Wall (depends on wall height to frame criteria)
Fastwrap breather (also known as VPM-vapour permeable membrane, wall-wrap, sarking, pliable membrane)
5-15 mm Drainage Gap (this is the drainage zone). WARNING: High rise projects need to consider cavity fire barriers.
