COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY AND COUNSELLING
If you are reading this, you or someone you care about may be suffering from emotional distress or unhappiness. You or they might not be able to change unhelpful thoughts, feelings or behaviours. You may have psychological distress as a result of workplace stress, relationship breakdown, other family issues, an accident or other trauma. Maybe issues such as anxiety or depression have begun to take over your life. If so you will be looking for a therapist who can offer empathetic understanding and positive unconditional regard within a caring and confidential environment to work together with you on your issues.
Issues you may bring include:
Workplace issues, Stress, Relationships, Family issues, Low self-esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Loss, Abuse, Trauma, PTSD, Bereavement, Bullying, Spirituality, Phobias, Panic, Anger, Obsessional thoughts or behaviours (OCD)
Sometimes the issues clients bring do not fit into any of these categories and that is OK as each client is a unique person. Issues in our lives may arise from early life experiences and relationships or from life events such as workplace or family stress, accidents or relationship breakdown. Often we may struggle to understand why we are as we are and why we find it hard to change.
My name is Philip Jones, a therapist working in the Newport/Cardiff/Caerphilly area, and I aim to help you explore the issues that are causing you concern. In doing so, I will assist you in examining your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a view to you working towards solutions to your problems and realising your goals.
As an accredited counsellor working to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy's ethical framework, I recognise that counselling is about a relationship based on trust and I offer this trust in a supportive environment in which you can feel accepted and understood.
