According to a very trustworthy source, Berkley High School will name its new head coach very soon. According to our source, the Bears will name their current JV head coach Casey Humes as the new Varsity HC. Humes will be handed the reigns from Sean Shields who was asked to step down after going 2-16 over the past 2 seasons. Humes has been at Berkley for 6 years and is also a graduate of the school as well. He played Linebacker for the Bears and is on the Berkley Athletics Wall Of Fame. He took over as a varsity defensive assistant in the middle of the season last year as well due to a staff change. Humes will have quite the task of turning the ship around but I truly believe he will be able to do it and I think they will shock the HS football scene and compete.Â
