These are our picks for the best offensive players in the OAA! So many talented players made the decision very hard but we have narrowed down our list to these 8 guys who showed outstanding talent and play on the field this year. All player's ranks or commitments are in parenthesis next to their name. Enjoy.
QB- Cullen Hock, Senior, Ferndale
Hock was no short of impressive. Leading Ferndale to a playoff appearance against Groves. According to MaxPreps, Hock's 1606 passing yards lead D2, along with tossing 15 touchdowns to go with it. I'm quite surprised the Hock doesn't have that many offers, I wouldn't be surprised if some late GLIAC or Ivy offers come in. Oh, and the kids got a 4.1 GPA.
RB- Luke Johnson, Senior, Oxford
Luke is the ultimate team player. He received the honor to wear the #42 jersey this season, one of the highest honors over there at Oxford Football. Luke finished the year with 1130 yards and 14 touchdowns and had many downright incredible games. Luke, in my opinion, has the opportunity to be All-State, he has some tough competition but I think he has proved himself, on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, he is one of the best backs in the state.
RB- Noah Sanders, Senior, Groves (Toledo Commit)
Noah is a BALLER. He may be the fastest kid I have ever seen run. No doubt the Toledo coaches are excited to get him on campus. Noah had quite the impressive season, despite being pulled in 7/9 games because of the blowout scores he and the Groves team would hand to the teams they played. He finished the Regular Season with 85 rushes for 728 yards and 11 touchdowns, leading the Falcons to a 9-0 record and chasing their chances at a state title.
WR- Dakota Guerrant, Sophomore, Harper Woods (5 Star)
Dakota had an outstanding season for the Pioneers, leading them to a 6-3 record against a grueling schedule full of D1 and D2 frontrunners. Guerrant had 29 catches for 612 yards, also having an unreal 544 yards on the ground on only 19 carries and a combined 18 touchdowns. Incredible season for the sophomore, who has 26 major D1 offers. Can't wait to see him develop into an even better player.
WR: Elisha Durham, Senior, West Bloomfield (3 star)
Last year in the state semifinal, he took over in that game. One of the most impressive single games I've seen from a player. He has not cooled down since then, finishing this year with an impressive 37 catches for 790 yards and 11 total touchdowns along with it. He is just downright talented, no other words for it, and D1 teams recognize that, he has 14 offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Umass, and Toledo. Durham helped the uber-talented Lakers team to a playoff birth and they hope to make a big run.
WR: Kameron Flowers, Senior, West Bloomfield (Toledo)
The second West Bloomfield receiver on this list, just shows how talented this Lakers offense is. Flowers is ranked as the #1 '25 WR in the state and is a great route runner and can explode for a big play at any moment. Once you click on the Hudl tape you simply can't turn It off, whether it's a kick return touchdown or a jet sweep that flipped the field, there is a play for everything. The top 300 4-star can do it from anywhere on the field, Outside, slot, or anywhere you need him he's a weapon and I'm excited to see him show his skills at Toledo.
OLine- Avery Gach, Senior, Groves (Michigan Commit)
The 6'5 290lb Michigan commit is the definition of a stud. The second Groves player on this list shows how purely dominant this team was. Gach is exactly that, if you line up against him it is going to be a very long night. Whether you want to run or pass the ball, Gach's side of the line is wiped clean. He is one of the most physically talented linemen in the country, and I imagine Michigan's head coach, Sherron Moore, who formerly was the Oline coach, cannot wait to get his hands on Gach and use his size and speed to help the Michigan Oline, whether that's at Guard or Tackle.
Oline- Spencer Beckeman, Senior, Stoney Creek (Western Michigan Commit)
A three-sport 6'6 300-pounder is rarely heard of, but Stoney Creek has their hands on one. Beckeman is one of many D1 offensive linemen to come out of Stoney Creek in the past few years, which shows how talented this offensive line is. Beckeman stepped up as the anchor of the line this year, and he has been quite impressive. His strength is very impressive, along with his explosiveness, which allowed this Stoney Creek squad to reach the playoffs this year. Beckeman is very impressive and I'm excited to see what Western has in store for him.
Stay Tuned!
