Calls to Action

The Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TRC) Calls to Action was established in 2008 and is part of the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement (IRSSA) which recognizes the ongoing trauma of residential schools on survivors and their families. The TRC has implemented 94 calls to action for Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals and communities in an effort to repair the harm that residential schools have caused.

The 94 Calls to Action established by the TRC and are categorized into legacy and reconciliation. These Calls to Action address the impact on residential schools and ways to reconcile the trauma that Indigenous Peoples went through.

There are ways to support and answer the TRC Calls to Action in order to repair the harm that residential schools caused on Indigenous Peoples. In the video, TRC Senator Murray Sinclair speaks on how Canadians can act on the Calls to Action.

The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation marks the tragic loss of children and the ongoing trauma that survivors, families, and communities face due to residential schools. September 30th is the day to honour the loss and tragedy that occured at residential schools.
