One of the ways that individuals can support Indigenous peoples is through supporting businesses and initiatives. Currently, there are over 50,000 Indigenous-owned businesses in Canada, with many of these businesses being small to medium size. These businesses are central to building and strengthening sustainable economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples and furthering relationships. There are various projects and initiatives across Canada that the public can get involved in.
Reconciliation Canada is an organization that provides Reconciliation Dialogue Workshops across Canada developing meaningful partnerships through outreach programs. You can donate to the program; individuals can sign up to participate; or businesses and organizations can partner with them.
True North Aid is a charity that provides humanitarian assistance through eight initiatives, "self-determination, reconciliation, water, food, health, housing, hope, and education". You can find different projects under each initiative where individuals can donate.
