Steps to take to ADVOCATE!
If you have concerns, please follow the following steps in order as listed below.
INEA Members:
Take notes and DO NOT RESIGN or SIGN any documents without consulting a union representative.
If you have questions or are unsure if you need 3rd party representation at a meeting or need to file a grievance, PLEASE contact a member of the INEA Executive Committee or our UniServ Director IMMEDIATELY! We are here to assit you!
Steps for General Concerns:
For general building level concerns contact your building leadership team or building principal to discuss your concern. This can be via email or an in-person conversation.
If after your initial conversation or email your issue is not addressed to your satisfaction, please reach out to your INEA Union Representative for further guidance and assistance.
If your INEA Union Representative is unavailable, please feel free to email an INEA Executive Committee Member.
*If a student's safety, or school staff's safety is in danger, please follow the procedures established and the policies in the ISD staff handbook and report it immediately.
Steps for Urgent Concerns (DFS Hotline, Admin Leave, Etc.):
If a member is notified by administration that they are being placed on paid administrative leave, the subject of a DFS Children's Division Hotline, or other district level disciplinary action please notify INEA immediately to discuss your rights and provide support.

Parents/Community Members Concerns:
If you feel your student's safety is in danger, please contact their school principal immediately so action can be taken as soon as possible.
Steps:
Contact the staff member (counselor, teacher, admin) to discuss your concern directly. Email will more than likely be the fastest way to interact with school staff.
If after your initial conversation or email your issue is not addressed to your satisfaction, please contact the staff member's administrator. For building staff concerns: reach out to the building level principal. For building principal concerns, please contact: Dr. Anthony Robinson at Human Resources: tony_robinson@isdschools.org
If you need further assistance, please contact: Elementary students: Leslie Hochsprung, Middle and High School: Randy Maglinger, Special Education: Sherri Potter, Facilities: Greg McGee.
Also feel free to contact or CC any/all Board of Education members.
