Our goal at Inclusive Pathways Learning Community is to provide a welcoming and safe place for neurodivergent homeschoolers and their families to gather to learn and grow together. We believe that everyone deserves to learn at their own pace and our classes are tailored to honor that belief. We work with our students and their families to modify our curriculum to meet our students where they are, ensuring that everyone is included and has a positive learning experience. We offer a variety of classes ranging from core academic courses to fun enrichment courses, and also offer opportunities for students to take classes designed to learn useful life skills as well as engage in social opportunities.
Our philosophy at Inclusive Pathways Learning Community is that all behavior is communication. We recognize that children may use behaviors when they are unable to adequately communicate their needs verbally or they may engage in a behavior to meet a sensory need. We also understand that sometimes our neurodivergent students just need a break. We have created a sensory friendly area within our learning space for students to retreat to so that they can recharge and return to their class when they are ready.
Inclusive Pathways Learning Community is open to any neurodivergent student and their family, regardless of their race, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin or sexual orientation. We welcome the diversity that your family will bring to our community.
In the event of inclement weather, Inclusive Pathways Learning Community will follow Anne Arundel County Public School for closure only. If AACPS is delayed, Inclusive Pathways Learning Community will open at our normal time. Please use your judgment when traveling from outside of Anne Arundel County and let your child’s Learning Facilitators know if you are unable to arrive safely.
Students should be fever free, temperature of less than 100℉, (without the use of fever reducing medications) for 24 hours before returning to classes.
Students experiencing any of the following symptoms should stay home to rest and recover:
Diarrhea
Vomiting
Suspected communicable illness
Persistent cough, with fever
Persistent runny nose, with fever
Undiagnosed rashes
Positive COVID test
An adult family member must be on site at all times while their child is at Inclusive Pathways Learning Community. If you need to leave for any reason, you must identify another adult to be responsible for your child until you return and notify Learning Community staff.
Our Learning Community depends on family involvement. We have several ways for our families to contribute to the success of our program. Each family will participate in one of the following support roles.
- Set up for classes (beginning at 9:30am)
- Tear down after classes (beginning at 3pm)
- Classroom Assistant
- Lunch/Recess Supervision
If you are unable to fulfill your duty on a given day, it is your responsibility to find someone to substitute for you and notify Learning Community staff of this change.
Families are advised that Inclusive Pathways Learning Community does not provide an umbrella or other review services. Families must follow Maryland Homeschooling COMAR regulations by registering with your county or an umbrella group.
