Making Work Sheets Accessible

Reading & Writing & Math

Where to start?

Paper-based worksheets do not provide an inclusive learning experience for students who use read aloud and writing tools.

The first step towards an accessible worksheet is to obtain an accessible digital copy. This often involves converting an image PDF to a searchable PDF which allows text to speech tools to detect the text and read it aloud.

Once you have a digital copy that has selectable, searchable text, such as a Word document, Google Document, or a searchable PDF,  reading and writing accessibility tools can be used with the document.
