Better Together!
Laura lives in New Fairfield, CT and has been an attorney since 1995. Her early practice was happily in real estate then as in-house Contract Counsel at a corporation.
She had the first of 3 children in 1998, a son, who was diagnosed at 3 with Asperger's Syndrome and subsequently with several learning disabilities.
She stayed home for a few years and engaged in the parental whirlwind of OT, PT, and Speech therapies, IEPs, and raising 2 additional children (1 was born with a cataract but that's a whole other story!).
Laura personally saw the impact on a child when there was a zealous advocate involved and decided to go back to the practice of law helping other families navigate special education. Here she has found her passion and recognizes the life changing impact on the entire family when a child can be educated in a way that addresses their unique variabilities.
Laura's son is about to begin his senior year away at college as a marketing major, statistics minor and Ultimate Frisbee National Champion. Her middle child, a daughter, is also at college supported by Charlie, an emotional support dog who helps with anxiety. Her youngest is heading into her junior year in high school.
In addition to practicing law, Laura volunteers as a Guardian ad Litem in abuse and neglect cases and acts as a Court appointed educational surrogate for students with special education needs in the foster care system.
