Four Temperaments
Section 2
Section 2
Sanguine – optimistic
Phlegmatic - relaxed
Choleric - short-tempered
Melancholic - analytical
I think it is very important for students to identify their own temperament because it helps us get to know ourselves better, and at the same time, when we encounter problems, we will know how to handle them. Knowing myself more is very important because, in my opinion, if you don’t understand yourself, how are other people going to understand you? By recognising our temperament, we can also learn how to grow and improve in areas where we may struggle. It shows us how we can handle our future too, because self-awareness gives us the ability to plan ahead, make wiser decisions, and prepare for challenges with confidence.
Understanding temperament gives us a clearer picture of our strengths and weaknesses. It allows us to build confidence in what we do well, while also teaching us how to manage the challenges that come with our personality. For example, a Sanguine student may realize they are naturally cheerful and social, but they might also learn to work on being more consistent and focused. This kind of self-awareness not only helps us academically but also in our relationships, because we become more empathetic and better at connecting with others.
In the end, identifying our temperament is like having a guidebook to ourselves. It shows us how to use our natural gifts wisely, how to overcome our limitations, and how to grow into the best version of who we are both now and in the future
Based on Psychologia, my primary temperament is Phlegmatic, and I enjoy living with calm, steadiness, and quiet strength. I thrive on peace, stability, and the comfort of being around people I trust, often becoming the one who brings balance and reassurance to a room. My natural patience makes me approachable and dependable, while my gentle consistency keeps life grounded and harmonious. I always try to relate to people more so that I can help them with their feelings, because I genuinely love supporting others and being there when they need encouragement.
At the same time, I’m an INFJ personality, which adds depth and vision to this steady energy. While the Phlegmatic side makes me calm, thoughtful, and slow to judge, the INFJ side grounds me with empathy, purpose, and a drive for harmony. Together, this blend means I’m not only someone who brings peace and stability, but also someone who seeks meaning and authenticity in every interaction.
Yet, people often assume I have no struggles because I seem composed and serene. Behind that tranquility, I carry challenges of my own, though I choose to handle them quietly and with resilience. I strive to grow, to be better, and to balance the calm I share with others with the strength I cultivate within myself. This duality peaceful on the outside, reflective within shapes the way I connect with the world, allowing me to bring both comfort and sincerity wherever I go.
