iMet is designed as a local organization app. The app helps users organize people, lists, categories, encounters, and events on their own device.
The developer does not operate any proprietary servers for app content, user profiles, contacts, calendar data, attachments, analytics, or tracking. By default, the data you enter or import is stored locally on your device. This app content data is not transmitted to the developer.
This Privacy Policy is based on the information requirements set out in Articles 12, 13, and 14 of the GDPR.
Depending on how you use iMet, the following data may be stored or processed:
Contact information: name, telephone number, email address, job title, and optional contact photo
Personal notes about individuals: conversation topics, age, hairstyle, glasses, tattoos, relationships, connections, list or category assignments, and date of creation
Lists and categories: names, types, entries, custom categories, and symbols
Calendar and event data: title, date, time, location, notes, participant names, email addresses, and invitation information
Attachments: photos, images, and PDF files added to an event
Purchase status: information about whether the full version has been unlocked through the App Store
App settings: acceptance of the Privacy Policy, onboarding status, contact access request, iCloud backup settings, and time of the most recent backup
Please do not store any data in iMet that you are not legally permitted to store. Special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR, such as health data, political opinions, religious beliefs, or biometric data, should not be stored in iMet.
Data is processed for the following purposes:
Providing the app’s features: Storing, displaying, editing, and deleting people, lists, categories, events, and attachments. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Contact import and calendar access: Only after the corresponding iOS system permission has been granted, in order to import contacts and create, display, edit, or delete events. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for granting permission and Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing the app feature.
Optional iCloud backup: Only if the full version has been purchased and iCloud backup has been enabled. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for enabling the feature and Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing the backup feature.
Purchase processing and restoration: Purchases and purchase restoration are handled through the Apple App Store and StoreKit. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
People, lists, categories, and settings are stored locally on your device. Event attachments are stored in the app’s documents directory. Calendar events are stored in your iOS calendar using EventKit.
The developer does not have access to this locally stored data.
iMet requests access to your contacts and calendar through the iOS system permission dialogs. If permission is not granted, the corresponding feature may be unavailable or available only to a limited extent.
Imported contacts are stored as iMet people. They are not automatically written back to your address book.
Calendar events are created, modified, or deleted in your calendar when you use the corresponding feature.
If you take photos, select images, or add PDF files, this content is used solely for the respective app feature and is stored locally.
Images added as event attachments are stored as JPEG files, while PDFs are stored as files in the app’s storage. The developer does not receive this content.
In the full version, you can enable manual or automatic iCloud backups.
People, lists, and categories are stored as a JSON backup in your private iCloud database. Profile pictures are excluded from the iCloud backup. Local event attachments are not included in this JSON backup.
Processing in iCloud is carried out by Apple. iMet uses the CloudKit container iCloud.com.sascha.iMet and stores the record in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account.
For more information, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy:

In-app purchases, purchase status, restoration of purchases, and payment processing are handled through the Apple App Store and StoreKit.
Payment data is not processed by the developer. Apple’s privacy information and terms apply to Apple services.
If you send events, invitations, photos, PDFs, or other content using the iOS share function, Apple Mail, messaging apps, or other services, the selected data will be transferred to the service you choose.
From that point onward, the privacy terms of the respective provider apply. The developer does not control this subsequent processing.
The developer does not receive any app content data.
Depending on how you use the app, recipients may include:
Apple, if you use iCloud, the App Store, StoreKit, iOS permissions, or calendar services
Communication or sharing services selected by you when you actively share content
People to whom you send content, invitations, or attachments
If Apple or third-party providers selected by you process data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, such processing is carried out in accordance with their privacy policies and the applicable safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
The developer does not independently transfer app content data to third countries.
Local data remains stored until you delete it within the app, remove the app’s data, or uninstall the app.
Calendar data remains in your calendar until you delete it either there or through iMet.
iCloud backups remain in your private iCloud storage until they are overwritten, deleted, or removed through your iCloud settings.
App Store purchase data is stored by Apple in accordance with Apple’s applicable retention periods.
To the extent that the developer processes personal data, you have the following rights in accordance with the GDPR:
Right of access
Right to rectification
Right to erasure
Right to restriction of processing
Right to data portability
Right to object
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by revoking the relevant iOS permission or disabling iCloud backup.
Because app content data is not transmitted to the developer, you can manage and delete most data directly within the app, iOS, your calendar, or iCloud.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In particular, you may contact the supervisory authority responsible for your place of residence or the data protection supervisory authority responsible for Berlin.
iMet does not use tracking SDKs, advertising networks, or proprietary analytics servers. The developer does not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.
iMet uses the security mechanisms provided by iOS, the app sandbox, system permissions, and, when backups are enabled, your private iCloud storage.
Protect your device, Apple Account, and backups using secure credentials.
This Privacy Policy is provided through a Google Site. When you visit this website, Google may process technical data such as your IP address, browser information, or access data. Google’s privacy information applies to processing carried out by Google:

This Privacy Policy may be amended if the app’s features, applicable laws, or technical processes change. Material changes will be communicated within the app or in connection with an app update.
