About Myself

Hello,

I have joined the Department of Mechanical engineering, IIT Delhi as an Assistant Professor on November 2021. Since Jan 2023, I have been associated with WMG, The University of Warwick, UK, as an Honorary Associate Professor. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, I worked at WMG's center for the High-Value Manufacturing Catapult, The University of Warwick, UK as an Assistant professor.

I have vast experience in joining and battery assembly using a wide range of joining methods, with a special focus on battery system joining technologies and automotive body-in-white joining. Furthermore, my research interests are battery interconnects joining, material testing and characterization, modeling and simulation of joint/assembly, metrology & measurement, and advanced manufacturing processes.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

Electric Vehicle Battery Systems: Thermal management of battery module; Mechanical, electrical and thermal characterisation of various battery joints; and modelling & simulation of battery interconnects
Joining Applications: Micro-joining applications, Laser welding, Remote Laser Welding, Ultrasonic Welding, Ultrasonic Wedge Bonding, Resistance Spot Welding and micro-TIG welding
Process Control, Metrology and Measurement: Statistical Process Control, Closed-loop quality improvement, Dimensional quality control (GD&T), Non-contact optical measurement
Modelling and Simulation: Micro modelling of electrical interconnects for the automotive electric vehicle battery, Shape error modelling and characterisation for automotive assembly systems, Body-in-white assembly simulation, Fixture modelling and optimisation
Advanced Manufacturing: Laser processing, Non-traditional machining and characterisation
