Several doctors have said that most cases of hospital admission are those who have not got themselves vaccinated. Hence it is vital that all of us get vaccinated.
Vaccination for all age groups (18-45 and 45+) is by appointment only. Please register and make an appointment on the COWIN portal (https://www.cowin.gov.in/home). There are many automated trackers which constantly look for available slots and notify you when something becomes available. A list of such tracker is given on the following link:
AUTOMATED VACCINE SLOT TRACKERS
The vaccination slots for the next week open at 10:00 AM on Sunday and remains open till a maximum number of bookings. The slots may close and re-open in between depending upon the traffic on the app. Please keep trying.
*The first slot of the day fill very fast, so if you are slow with "captcha", try middle of the day or end of the day slot.
You may choose CHC Kalyanpur (same as PHC Barasirohi) or any other neighboring health center as per availability and your convenience of travel (REVIEWS are given at the end of this page).
Address of CHC Kalyanpur (Barasirohi PHC) (easily accessible from Shivli gate)
Address of PHC Bairi, Kalyanpur (good reviews on the telegram group and very close to IIT)
Address of PHC Kanpur University (KU) (good reviews on the telegram group)
Please note the following:
Go to the PHC between 11 AM – 5 PM, preferably before 4 PM to avoid closure or vaccines getting over.
Make sure to take your Aadhaar Card and a pen to fill the card (to avoid sharing). For 18 - 45 years age group, please carry an ID showing your residence/address in the state of UP.
Take a water bottle to avoid heatstroke.
Wear masks, take sanitizer and take a face shield if possible.
Go to the correct room. There are different rooms for vaccination of first and second dose as well as one for testing. Sometimes there are quite a few people for testing which provides a false impression about the queue for vaccination.
We request campus residents to update our IITK HC on the vaccination (1st or 2nd dose, and vaccine name) so that HC can maintain a record and make arrangements for vaccination on campus in the future accordingly.
The staff at bairi kalyanpur are very efficient. The whole process took around 30-40 mins including queuing time. The location on Google maps is slightly wrong (which I updated, and posted a few photos). It's actually one block before what is shown. Ample space for parking. Highly recommended. (From Telegram, location map updated in description)
When I went, it was not crowded. Very few people were there. They followed proper protocols.
Bairi Kalyanpur is very close by. No rush. The whole thing was well managed. IIT crowd should definitely explore the option. As locals have some hesitation still in going for vaccines.
Vaccination at PHC Barasirohi for 45+ age group will continue today.
Those have not please get vaccinated at Kalyanpur CHC (Barasirohi PHC). Many of us have got vaccinated there. The experience by and large has been good.
Today we went to CVC Kalyanpur Barasirohi for 45+ dose. It took us around 1.5 hours to get the dose. There were only one line for all ( 18+, 45+, first and second dose) outside the center. No social distancing was maintained either outside or inside the center. Mu advice to those who are willing to get vaccinated there is to go with proper protection and please carry a pen as one needs to fill up a form. Also do not expect anything like iitk health center arrangement. It was way too much crowded.
Got vaccinated today at UPHC Bairi Kalyanpur. Good experience. Wait time was little over 40 mins. Even though there was queue, everybody followed covid protocols. I encourage anyone who wants to get vaccinated to choose this center.
