Maslow's Character Analysis DUE. In class, students completed a reflection and self-evaluation, and then turned in both to the inbox.
We read an article (Texts --> "US Gymnastics - NYT article") and made connections between the call to action and issues faced in both real life and in the short story.
HW: review the SUMMATIVE FINAL PROJECT. Complete the review activities (Slideshow --> "Wednesday 1/16") and be ready with your questions for class tomorrow.
Monday, Jan 14:
Today, we updated our backwards planning calendars (January), revised our priorities list and time-management goals, and checked in with our accountability buddies.
Also, we received a new assignment (#2 - Maslow's Character Analysis), and reviewed the rubric and assignment expectations. It is DUE WEDNESDAY, January 16 (@ the beginning of the period).
Friday, Jan 11 - Do the POV Letter (Assignments). It's due Monday. Final Draft. Have a good weekend :)
Thursday, Jan 10 - Still sick - my body hates me :( Here's the checklist of things you'll need to accomplish today in my absence:
Find the text (you know the drill) and read (aloud in table groups, or individually on your phone / electronic device) - FINISH.
Take / finish reading notes (characters, conflict, setting)
Complete write free #6 (sub will share in class today)
Wednesday, Jan 9 - Again, I'm out sick :( Sorry! Here's the abbreviated plan:
Find the text again, and read (aloud in table groups, or individually on your phone / electronic device) - PG. 47-60.
I'm expecting you to be responsible with your time, and I also expect you to KNOW the content
Update your reading notes (characters, conflict, setting)
Complete both free writes #4-5 (sub will share them in class)
Tuesday, Jan 8 - I apologize for the unexpected absence. Today you are going to read (individually) the next section of "The Wizards of Perfil".
Find the selection under "Texts"
Read the passage - Pg. 34 - 46.
Continue taking notes on the characters, conflict, and setting.
Free Write #3 (5 minutes continuous) - what are some of the needs the characters are lacking so far in the story? How do those needs influence each characters' behaviors?
