- With apologies for the delay, I have posted the FINAL study guide, along with practice tests and corresponding information / study materials. Although we did not use the Holt textbook in class, much of the material, skills, and concepts are identical to those we covered in class.

- Friday 1/18 UPDATE:
- 1st Debate teams present
- HW (Due 1/21 @ 4:00 p.m.) Group liaisons should upload 1 FINAL draft your group essay to turnitin.com. Keep a copy in your group folder as well, in the event of a major unforeseen issue.
- HW (Due 1/22): evaluate the performance of the debate groups who share your stance (i.e. "Affirmative" will evaluate other "Affirmative" teams, etc.). You will rate each group member on a scale of 1-4 (4 - exceeding, 3 - meeting, 2 - approaching, and 1 - beginning) on the following criteria: 1. Preparedness 2. Logic/Reason 3. Use of Evidence 4. Rhetoric (ability to persuade) 5. Clarity & Organization.

- HW: Review Intro and Conclusion templates (slideshow #12 & 13); write drafts of intro and conclusion paragraphs (due tomorrow beginning of class 1/16)

- Library Time (we have it reserved Monday - Wednesday for our editing / revising activities. Your goal for today is:
- Review everybody's 1st & 2nd Reason paragraphs
- Collaborate and synthesize your individual paragraphs into 2 group paragraphs
- Begin drafting your counterargument paragraph
- HW: write your individual counterargument draft (tomorrow - revise, edit, synthesize)

- Still out - I think my body hates me at this point :( Continue your research - I will be checking these closely (individual Google folders) tomorrow.
- I've also posted your next lesson (#10) - how to draft your claim, start an outline, and your goals for writing Paragraph #1-2 (weekend).

- I'm out sick again today, so you're free to continue researching in the library today. I'm going to extend the DUE DATE for the Individual Research Slides to FRIDAY 1/11 due to my absences, so if you have any questions that cannot be answered over email, please plan to meet with me directly tomorrow during class, or before/after.
