Eligibility:
Possesses Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991]excluding grace mark.

Programme overview
There has been increasing complexities in the society as the humanity progress. The emerging issues as humanity encounters are more dynamic in nature. In this context there is need for more interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach in knowledge production in both theoretical and methodological area to address the dynamic issues. This programme discusses the merits and limitations of the disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary approaches. PHDITS focuses on several areas of Interdisciplinary Inquiry (History, Society, Culture and Civilization, Women and Gender studies, disability studies, migration and diaspora studies, labour studies, globalization studies, Environment and sustainable development).
Programme Objective (s) : (a) to promote academic studies and research within and across conventional and emerging disciplines, and (b) to promote areas of research that require interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary methodology.
