Eligibility:
Possesses Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and PwD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991]excluding grace mark.

Qualifies in the entrance examination conducted by IGNOU at the National level.
Programme overview
The PhD programme provides an opportunity to learners to undertake extensive research in the area of Nutrition and Dietetics. The thrust areas of research include:
- Clinical and Therapeutic Nutrition and Dietetics (with focus on dietary management of diet related non communicable diseases such as diabetes, obesity, coronary heart diseases, etc and other problems).
- Public Nutrition with focus on adolescent and maternal health and nutrition, child malnutrition, micronutrient deficiency control and behaviour change communication.
- Health Care and Promotion
- Geriatric Care and Nutrition
- Sports Nutrition
- Food Safety and Quality Control
