How reliable is this source?
Describes the source content or provenance [1 mark]
Explains whether the source is reliable or not based on simple use of its provenance and/or content [2-4 marks]
Explains whether the source is reliable or not by EVALUATING its key argument by cross-referencing to other sources [5-6 marks]
Explains whether the source is reliable or not by EVALUATING its key argument using contextual knowledge [7-8 marks]
How to structure the answer:
Split into two sides (e.g. reliable and unreliable)
On one side, identify an area of reliability of the source and explain why it is reliable/what makes it reliable.
On the other side, identify an area of unreliability of the source and explain why it is unreliable/what makes it unreliable.
Give a conclusion which states whether you believe the source was or was not reliable by using contextual knowledge to evaluate it's key argument
