All assignments must be submitted online on the scheduled due date before class start time. A student must negotiate a request for an extension via email suggesting a new due date with the appropriate faculty at least two days prior to the original deadline. An extension may only be granted at the discretion of the faculty. Students with an academic accommodation are also required to negotiate a deadline in advance of the scheduled due date even if their accommodation recommends extended time for assignments and papers.
NO ASSIGNMENTS ARE ACCEPTED FOR SUBMISSION AFTER THE LAST DAY OF YOUR COURSE.
If you have an emergency please reach out to your faculty member. With approval from your faculty member PRIOR to the last day of your course an extension for a final assignment can be negotiated. Emergency extensions for final assignments, must have faculty and coordinator approval and the student is required to submit proof to substantiate the emergency.
Late Assignments will be penalized five percentage marks per day (including weekends) up to 20 days past the due date (This does NOT include final assignments due during the final week of the course). After the 20-day period, the student will be granted a “0” on that assignment, unless alternative arrangements have been made with the faculty. Assignments will not be accepted after the last day of the semester’s classes regardless of the due date.
Safe Assign is plagiarism detection service which is used for all assignments to prevent plagiarism. Students may be asked by their professor to upload all written work to SafeAssign on Blackboard. Students are able to review their submissions prior to submission. When an instructor has reason to suspect plagiarism whether individual or group assignment, the instructor is permitted to request previous drafts and rough work for assignment; as well as submit work to course lead. Your Professor will provide more information in class.
