The goal of this half-day workshop is to discuss children's well-being as we transition into a world increasingly adopting digital technology for children's activities, learning and play. This workshop will be a venue to discuss questions about children's well-being in digital environments guided by questions such as ''How does research, policy and practice contribute to children's digital well-being?'' among others.
We invite researchers and practitioners from academia, policy and industry to reflect and advance the agenda for the future of children's digital well-being.
Submissions should ideally be focused on, but not limited to:
Defining children's well-being in the digital world
2. Evaluating children's digital well-being
3. Designing for children's digital well-being
4. Policy initiatives for children's digital well-being
5. Developing tools for children's digital well-being
The workshop themes serve only as a guide, as such we encourage submissions that can offer different perspectives to the topic going beyond the identified themes.
Submissions may present current or past research projects, or could be position papers, literature reviews, or theoretical analyses, demos/work in progress/position papers or previously published work.
We invite submissions in the form of short papers (2-4 pages excluding references).
All submissions are due on April 15, 2024 (AoE).
Papers should be submitted in PDF format using double-column ACM SIGCHI Paper Format. The formats for the submissions are similar to those of the main IDC 2024 conference (ACM Master template - double column). Templates are available on the ACM website(MS Word) or directly on Overleaf (LaTeX). When using Overleaf, please ensure that the document uses the “sigconf” document class.
Submission should not be anonymized.
Please use this Google Forms to upload all submissions in PDF format. All submissions will be reviewed by the organizers, and accepted submissions will be posted on the workshop's website. At least one author of each accepted paper must attend the workshop and all workshop participants must register for both the workshop and the main conference.
