Vicky Charisi is a research affiliate at the UCL, Institute of Education, UK. For the last six years, Vicky was a research scientist at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission supporting Science for Policy with a focus on the impact of Artificial Intelligence and robots on child development and well-being. She is particularly interested in designing systems that adhere and promote children’s fundamental rights and works at the intersection of policy, research and industry. She currently serves as a Chair at the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Cognitive and Developmental Systems, TF on Human-Robot Interaction.
Nikoleta Yiannoutsou is an expert on digital education. For the last four years, she worked as a scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission as a project manager of SELFIE and led research on well-being in the context of digital education. Her research focuses on supporting schools as organizations to adopt a critical approach to the integration of digital technologies. Previously she was a research fellow at the UCL Knowledge Lab and she has collaborated in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of technology in formal and non-formal settings.
Shuli Gilutz is a program officer at the Child Rights and Digital Business group at UNICEF. She leads projects with industry to promote children’s rights and well-being in the digital world, including the RITEC project focusing on digital play, and in collaboration with the LEGO group. Previously she has been a teaching fellow at Tel-Aviv University, a UX research mentor at Google for Startups, a consultant for children’s technology design, strategy and research, and a cofounder of the digital play startup UGlabs. She was a founding board member of the Designing for Children’s Rights Association and is a global speaker and advocate for child-centered design.
Matthew J. Dennis is an assistant professor in ethics of technology at TU Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He is also the co-director of Eindhoven Centre for the Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence, and a Senior Researcher in the Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies research consortium (ESDiT). He has recently held visiting positions at the University of Oxford's Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (2023), Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics (2023), University of Amsterdam's Institute for Advanced Studies (2022), and University of Cambridge's Centre for the Future of Intelligence (2020). He specializes in the ethics of artificial intelligence, autonomy and well-being, and the future of work. His recent publications focus on intercultural perspectives on human flourishing and emerging technologies.
Shyamli Suneesh is a Research Associate at the University of Bristol, UK. Her research interests lie in the areas of Social Robotics, Child Robot Interaction and Assistive Technologies. She is particularly interested in designing interactive technologies for children's wellbeing, creativity, learning and development. Her recent publications focus on robots and learning aids for special education and inclusivity. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Diana Award, 2023 for her social and humanitarian works contributing to empowering education and wellbeing through technology.
