"If you have asked any of these questions or others:
Where do I even start to get my child help?
My child has a diagnosis but have no idea what to do now.
If I have my child evaluated, how do I understand what it means and what accommodations to ask the school to incorporate?
Do I request a 504 or IEP and what is the difference?
If you any asked these or others, then educational consulting is for you!"

Q: Why do educators seek CERI certification?
A: Many teachers who seek CERI certification have completed teacher preparation programs and have been awarded a teaching license. However, teacher preparation programs often do not provide prospective teachers with the evidence-based knowledge and skills they need to teach reading effectively, particularly to students who struggle in learning to read and write, and licensure tests often do not test this content.
CERI certification is a way for teachers to demonstrate and be recognized for their evidence-based knowledge and skills. Teachers, including those in private practice, may want to provide school and district administrators, parents, and clients validation of their knowledge and skills for providing effective instruction, assessment, and intervention.
The evidence-based content important to effective reading instruction is outlined in IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading (KPS).
