Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
Type "Paint" and press Enter to open the application.
Once Paint is open, click on File > Open and select the image you want to edit.
Definition: Resize allows you to change the dimensions (width and height) of an image while maintaining or altering its aspect ratio.
Purpose: Useful for making images larger or smaller without changing the content. For example, reducing an image’s size to fit on a website or enlarging it for printing.
With your image open, go to the Home tab in the toolbar.
Click on the Resize button in the "Image" group.
A dialog box will appear. You can choose to resize by Percentage or Pixels.
To maintain the aspect ratio (so the image doesn’t look stretched), ensure Maintain aspect ratio is checked.
Enter the desired width or height. The other dimension will adjust automatically if the aspect ratio is maintained.
Click OK to apply the changes.
Definition: Cropping removes unwanted outer areas of an image, allowing you to focus on a specific part.
Purpose: Ideal for cutting out distractions or unnecessary portions, enhancing composition, or changing the aspect ratio of a photo.
In the Home tab, click on the Select tool in the "Tools" group.
You can choose Rectangular selection (default) or Free-form selection for irregular shapes.
Click and drag your mouse over the area of the image you want to keep.
Once the desired area is selected, click on the Crop button in the "Image" group.
The image will now be cropped to the selected area.
Definition: Rotate turns the image by a certain angle, such as 90 degrees, 180 degrees, or 270 degrees.
Purpose: Useful for correcting the orientation of a photo taken sideways or for creative design purposes.
Go to the Home tab and click on the Rotate button in the "Image" group.
A dropdown menu will appear with several options:
Rotate right 90°: Rotates the image clockwise.
Rotate left 90°: Rotates the image counterclockwise.
Rotate 180°: Flips the image upside down.
Flip vertical: Mirrors the image vertically.
Flip horizontal: Mirrors the image horizontally.
Select the desired option to apply the rotation or flip.
Definition: Flip mirrors the image either horizontally (left to right) or vertically (top to bottom).
Purpose: Handy for creating symmetrical designs or correcting mirrored photos.
Open the Image: Open the image in MS Paint.
Select Flip Option:
Click on the Rotate dropdown menu.
Choose either:
Flip Horizontal (mirrors the image left to right)
Flip Vertical (mirrors the image top to bottom)
Save: Save the flipped image using File > Save As.
