8/22/2026-David Bridgeford was the low shooter of the day carding a net 60! In addition to winning the top spot in flight two, his two birdies scored him a pair of net skins! Great round David! Jeff Brunton and Bill Danaher played well also with each shooting two under to share the second spot in their flight.

Stephen Hollabaugh continues to play very well. His net 62 was one better than Tony Reid's strong round of net 63 to win top spot in flight one. Curt Eby and Matt Quinn shot net 66 to split the third place prize. Stephen also collected four total skins with his two birdies while Tony had the fewest putts. 

Rob Coon also had a good day with a net 62. That was one better than Doug Beckham's fine net 63. Tony Clingman and Ken Nash each shot net par to split the third place prize in the third flight. 

For Match Play, Jeff Babski, Ken Nash, and Stephen Hollabaugh are the last players standing. Stephen cannot play next tournament so we will delay the final three person match until September 19. 

We had an important men's club meeting after the round.  We have two significant changes to the by-laws that we're approved by the members. We also have a rules explanation. I'll try to keep it brief. 

#1- Senior Tees- Red Tees can only be used on Holes #2 and #11. These are available to anyone in the club regardless of handicap or age. Red Tees are no longer to be used on Holes #3 and #12. 

#2- Hole in one pot- Instead of having a player who gets a hole in one pay for a drink for everyone, Ken Nash had a great idea to create a hole in one insurance pot. So we voted to add $1 extra for entry fees to create this pot that will cap at $500. That money will be used to pay for one drink per member after some lucky sucker gets a hole in one in a Men's Club tournament. Once the cap is reached, I won't charge an extra $1. Same deal for hole in one pots as we will cap two pots at $1000. 

#3- Ball hit out of bounds- Out of bounds comes into play on Holes 1, 6, and 9. If you are unlucky enough to hit your ball OB, you have two options-

• You may hit a ball again from the original spot where you hit your previous shot OB with a penalty of one stroke. This is the stroke and distance penalty. 

• Second option is, at the cost of two strokes, you may drop your ball in the fairway in line with where you estimate your ball crossed the boundary . So if your tee shot went OB and you choose this option, you would be hitting your fourth shot. This option is most practical on Hole #1 as it has a fairway and holes 6 and 9 do not. 

• On Hole #6, the white fence that is to the back and right of the green is OB that separates the course from the private property. You may drop two clubs where it crossed the boundary line at the cost of two strokes to your score. It is strongly recommended that if you go out of bounds on Hole 6 or 9 to take the stroke and distance penalty. Hole 1- listen to your heart. 

If you read this far and understood my drivel, I am impressed. Please continue reading because this is important too. Our next round is THREE WEEKS away and it's round one of the Club Championship. September 12 is the day; 7:30 is the first tee time. Rounds two and three will take place the following weekend (September 19 and 20). To be eligible to win a trophy, you'll need to play all three rounds. If you can't, come out and play the rounds you can. I won't charge you the $3 dollar flight fee but you can still win skins and check holes off on the birdie challenge.
