The Congress of the International Community of Mathematicians from Africa 2026 (ICMAM Africa 2026) seeks to promote the state of the art in several areas of pure and applied mathematics among the next generation of mathematicians. We welcome attendees from developing countries, but our activities are open to the entire mathematical community. Our goal is simple: we want to use virtual platforms to reach mathematicians across all borders of the world!
It was the Chair of the Community, Zouhair Mouayn, and our Advisory Director, Duván Cardona, who initiated the discussion about creating a community in Africa to promote mathematics in Africa, with the support of ISAAC following the ISAAC Congress held in July 2025 in Astana in Kazakhstan. As a first step in this initiative, the ICMAM Africa Congress will be held every two years. In particular, the society will place special emphasis on fostering collaboration with ICMAM Latin America (International Community of Mathematicians from Latin America).
The congress will be held virtually via Zoom and YouTube.
