By Flight: If you are coming to Kolkata by flight, the best way to reach ISI Campus is to take a cab from the airport. There are a number of options for cab that you can avail:
Take a pre-paid taxi from within the terminal
Take one of the app cabs. There are a number of Kolkata specific app cabs that serve here other than the standard OLA and Uber.

3) InDrive
4) Snap-e
You can also avail local buses (AC-T2, D12, D4, AC-50A, D5, AC25, AC23A) or any other bus toward Bally-halt, Dankuni or Dunlop. To reach ISI you have two options
Get down at Dunlop bus stop on the Belghoria Express Road. Once you walk down a flight of stairs, ISI main gate is about 10 minutes away. Sharing auto facility is also available from Dunlop intersection to Bon-Hoogly Intersection and costs around 10 rupees.
Get down at Dakshineswar Bus stop. Take another bus (Dankuni-Nagerbazar, 79, K-4) to ISI gate or Bon-Hoogly bus stop. Sharing auto facility is also available from Dakshineswar bus stop to Bon-Hoogly intersection and costs around 10 rupees.
By Train: If you are coming by train you will be getting down in one of the 4 train stations - Howrah, Sealdah, Shalimar or Kolkata Station (Chitpur).
From Sealdah: Few buses like 230, 234 are usually available, you can get down at ISI bus stop. However it is better take a local train from Sealdah railway station. Take trains toward Dankuni (Dankuni local) or Baruipara (Baruipara local) and get down at Baranagar Road station, which is after the Dumdum junction. Baranagar Road station is at the Dunlop Intersection. Once you walk down a flight of stairs, ISI main gate is about 10 minutes away. Sharing auto facility is also available from Dunlop intersection to Bon-Hoogly Intersection and costs around 10 rupees. If you don't get a Dankuni or a Baruipara local, you can get down at Dumdum railway station and take metro towards Dakshineswar and get down at Baranagar metro station, which is again near the same spot as Baranagar railway station.
From Howrah: The best way to reach ISI from Howrah station is to take the East-West (green line) metro from the Howrah station to Esplande metro station and transfer to the blue line of the metro. From Esplanade, take a blue line metro towards Dakshineswar and get down at Baranagar (Route map given below). You may take buses (E32, C40, C45, Nimta Minibus). You have to get down at the bus stop ISI/Statistical (for the ISI academic campus) or at the Bonhooghly bus stop (for the ISI guest-house). Another option could be taking local trains till Bally station, and the buses are available from there till Dunlop bus stop, which is about 10 minutes walking form ISI main gate. Sharing auto facility is also available from Dunlop, costs around 10 rupees.
From Shalimar: The best option is to take a bus/shared auto to Howrah station and then use the above mentioned route.
From Kolkata Station: Take the bus (S14C and S9A) to Bon-hoogly or ISI bus stop.
By Metro: One of the best ways of reaching ISI from central or south Kolkata is to take the metro line to Baranagar station. Note that while some of the metro trains terminate at Dumdum station almost every other train will reach Baranagar station (metros running towards Dakshineshwar station). From Baranagar station, it is 10 minutes walk to ISI Main gate (203).
By Bus:
There are three bus stops that serve ISI campus.
For NSSOU stay: Dunlop Bus stop. This is on the Dunlop intersection which is at 10 minutes walking distance (towards northern direction) away from ISI main gate (203). The Baranagar metro station as well as Baranagar railway station are situated near this bus stop.
For Guest House stay: Bon-Hooghly Bus stop. This is the intersection area which is again further 10 minutes walk towards south from the ISI main gate (203). This is mainly the residential area which has hostels and guest house.
For ISI Academic area: ISI/Statistical Bus stop. This is the ISI main gate (203). This gates leads you to the academic campus of ISI Kolkata.
By Road: There are two bus stops on B.T, Road that serve ISI campus. The ISI bus stop is for the academic campus. And the Bon-hoogly bus stop is for the Guest house campus. There are a number of buses that ply on B.T.Road and serve ISI. There are also shared auto services from Dunlop and Barrackpore Intersection (in the north), Dakshineswar station and Bally station (in West), Sinthi Intersection (in South).
