Research Team

Matthew Kruger-Ross, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration at WCUPA. He teaches graduate courses on educational technology, curriculum, and research methodologies. Matthew’s research interests include the philosophy of education and technology and its impact on educational practice, curriculum theory as it relates to teaching and being a teacher, and the intersection of philosophy of education and the hermeneutic phenomenology of Martin Heidegger.

Pauline Schmidt, Ph.D. is a Professor of English Education in the Department of Secondary Education at WCUPA. She is also the Director of the West Chester Writing Project. Her teaching and research interests include the infusion of the arts in English Education, diversifying the canon of literature for children and young adults, and the impact of new literacies on curriculum and teacher preparation.

KC Thoman grew up in York, Pennsylvania, and is studying Secondary Education with minors in Communications, Civic and Professional Leadership, and Journalism. KC decided he wanted to become an educator because he has a passion for the pursuit of knowledge and an aversion to working weekends. (Spring 2024 - present)

Andrew Rubas grew up in Warrington, PA, and is studying Secondary English Education at West Chester University with minors in Civic and Professional Leadership and Political Science. Andrew decided that he wanted to become an educator because he wanted to make a positive impact on people and thought that teaching was the best way to do that. (Summer 2023)
