Understand the mechanisms of carbon sink and carbon source
Analyze interactive systems and understand the cause and effect relationships at the global scale
Evaluate the role of human activities in contributing the climate crisis
The Climate Fresk activity required students to figure out the connections between anthropogenic influences and environmental impacts using cards, helping them to exercise their problem solving and full-picture thinking. Through this activity, I came to understand different carbon sinks and sources and their connections to each other which created a complex, intertwining web that ties in to the declining condition of the Earth. Through this process, I realized that anthropogenic influences (deforestation, agriculture, transportation/energy) were the single most damaging carbon sources.
