Today is Vocation Sunday: MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS FOR THE 2023 WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS The first thing we need to say on this day is that every single person here has a vocation, every single person here has been and is being called by God through the Holy Spirit to offer their special gifts to the rest of the community. What is your vocation? What is your special gift? What contribution are you making to the life of this parish – inside the Church and outside it?
We also call this Sunday Good Shepherd Sunday. How well do I recognize the voice of Jesus as the Good Shepherd? Do I take the time to listen for his guidance in my life?
ADORATION There will NOT be adoration of Friday 5th May2023.
SECOND COLLECTION : 2nd Collection on 7th May 2023 for flowers.
CAKE SALE : 7th May 2023 there will be a cake sale. Speak to Lionete Spinola. We will appreciate donations of cakes and other sweet treats to sell on the day.
HOSPITALITY SERVICE (Ushers): Meeting today after the 9:00am Mass for all those who volunteered and would like to be part of this important service. We are requesting parishioners who would like to join this service to come forth and speak to Maria Moeng, Zukie Lekgothoane and Michelle Petzer. We need assistance with Ushers in the church.
CENSUS: We will be doing a drive to update our database. This will be done during May starting from Sunday 7th May, then 14th May and 21st May, just after the 7.30 and 9.00 Masses there will be someone at the door who will assist to check if your details are correct on our current database and update where needed. We request everyone to participate in this exercise so we can ensure that we have an updated database by the end of May 2023.
REPOSITORY/ROSARIES: Icons are available for purchase. Please ask Margaret or Lionete if you need anything new. New Pastoral Plan Booklet, available at R20-00 and Liturgical Calendars for 2023 at R30-00 each.
SHARING IS CARING: With winter approaching and the socio-economic circumstances in our country not improving, please consider donating any non-perishable food or toiletries, helping us, to be of help of those less fortunate. Thank you for your generosity. This week: Maize meal, rice, beans, pasta soup mix, tinned foods please. Contact Father Shibu or Margaret for help. Parishioners, the coffers are bear, please help.
FOR SAFETY REASONS ALL PARISHIONERS SHOULD BE ON TIME. The gates will be locked as soon as Mass starts and will only be opened once all parishioners have exited the church. We also started the ticket system where the drivers will be issued a ticket which is to be returned when you leave the premises. Please be vigilant. Please don’t leave valuable belongings in your vehicle. Keep the ticket safe.
