19th February Bulletin 2023 

• ASH WEDNESDAY: We will be having two Masses on Ash Wednesday. 8h00 and 18h00 .It is a prescribed day of fasting and abstinence. The ashes are made by burning the blessed palm crosses that were distributed last year on Palm Sunday; these are the ones that you are bringing today. Stations of the Cross start on Fridays at 18h30

•  CATECHISM: The parents of the catechism children are invited to attend an important meeting after the 9am today.  Children to bring Rosaries

•  VALENTINE’S CELEBRATION: We had a wonderful celebration of love for our immediate family and our Parish family last Sunday the 12th February.  Thank you to every person who attended and supported the fundraiser. Most of all thank you for all donations and hard work, put into it, that made this day a huge success. Congratulations to Suzi and John who won the Raffle prizes. Thank you to Eric and Patricia for Valentine’s origin and the lovely music. Total revenue for the day R2433-00,

• PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: A new parish Council Chairperson and Deputy in the persons of Mr. Lorne Newing and Mr. Teodoro Spinola and Secretary and the Deputy in the persons of Ms. Yolande Newing and Ms. Letitia Morrison respectively. Congratulations to the new Parish Pastoral Council members and the Executives. We wish this council great productivity and growth for our Parish.

• ANNUAL RETREAT: Please take note of the annual Retreat and diarise it. Starting Friday evening, the 24th March to Sunday, 26th March, so that, we as a family, all, can be part of this important spiritual renewal.

• Proclaimer’s : A lovely ministry that brings the Word to life in our hearts. Please contact Letitia Morrison after Mass or WhatsApp Letitia (073 213 9090).

• The Proclaimer workshop is scheduled for 11 March 2023 at 4 p.m. The commissioning will be on the 12th of March for those who attended.

• CANCER RELAY FOR LIFE Pretoria: The Fight CANCER relay is a fun filled overnight team experience to raise funds for education, care and support services, taking place on 18-19 March at Tou trek Park. Please speak to Yolande Newing or WhatsApp her on 083 537 3555 if you are interested. It is a very worthy cause. Cancer is treatable if detected in time. Please see the full poster at the entrance of the church. Let us be a TEAM.        \

• GROTTO & WALL OF REMEMBERANCE PROJECT 2022: The improvements to this area are almost complete and look amazing.  We appreciate the continued contributions our parishioners make towards all special projects.

• REPOSITORY/ROSARIES: Icons are available for purchase. Please ask Margaret or Lionete if you need anything new. New Pastoral Plan Booklet, available at R20-00 and Liturgical Calendars for 2023 at R30-00 each.

• SHARING IS CARING: Thank you for your generosity in reaching out to the less fortunate members of our parish. We urge all parishioners to help by bringing Maize, pasta, rice, soya mince, soup powder next week. Contact Father Shibu or Margaret for help. Parishioners, the coffers are bare.      

• FOR SAFETY REASONS ALL PARISHIONERS MUST ON TIME.  The gates will be locked as soon as Mass starts and will only be opened once all parishioners have exited the church.  Please be vigilant.
