THE SEASON OF ADVENT
Second Sunday of Advent
Proclaimer;
Sun of justice, you showed your day was dawning in the immaculate Virgin Mary;
help us to walk in the daylight of your presence. Lord, may your mother pray for us
R: Lord, graciously hear us.
Saviour of the world, by your redemptive power you preserved your mother Mary from every stain of sin;
deliver us from the evil that lies hidden in our hearts. Lord, may your mother pray for us.

Christ, our Redeemer, you made the Virgin Mary the sanctuary of your presence and the temple of the Spirit;

⚛ THANKS GIVING CELEBRATION: Please take note that we will celebrate all our blessings as n parish today on the Feast Day of Immaculate Conception on the 11th December 2022.This is a perfect opportunity to show gratitude, by means of a special donation to our parish. After 09:00 am Mass we will have a Bring and Braai and fun for old and young. Please do not go home after Mass, change into casual clothes then stay and enjoy the day. We will supply fires for cooking, music for ambiance, tables and chairs and fun games. Please bring along your own food, plates and cutlery as well as drinks.
⚛ INSTALLING OF PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: The new Council has been elected according to the statutes of the Diocese. Congratulations to all elected and we trust that you will do your very best for our Parish during your period of service.
⚛ CATECHISM: In order to provide the best catechism for our children, we need committed and inspired catechists to offer their services in our Church. Should you feel you want to be part of this team, please contact Lorne Newing, our Catechism Coordinator. Registration of children will start early next year, thank you to all parents for your cooperation. Attendance Certificates will be handed out today, the 11th December. Thank you to Lorne and all the Catechists for the wonderful work you are doing.
⚛ SECOND COLLECTION, BISHOPS ADVENT APPEAL: The second collection, every Sunday of Advent, is for the upkeep of retired clergy in our Archdiocese.
⚛ GROTTO & WALL OF REMEMBERANCE PROJECT: The improvements to this area has commenced and we are excited to see the completed work. There are envelopes at the entrance of the Church, we humbly ask for donations towards this project.
⚛ ADVENT/CHRISTMAS PROGRAM:
18/12/22 – 15:00, Decorating Christmas tree all welcome to help.
_18:30 Carols singing in the hall, bring and share tea and cake.
24/12/22 - 21;15 Carols singing.
22:00 Mass.
25/12/22 - 09:00 Mass.
⚛ REPOSITORY/ROSARIES: Icons are available for purchase. Please ask Margaret or Lionete if you need anything new.
New Pastoral Plan Booklet now available at R20-00 as well as Joy of the Gospel Reflections for 2023 at R100 a copy. The Liturgical Calendar for 2023 is also available at R30-00 each.
⚛ SHARING IS CARING: As the economic situation is getting worse in our country the need for help in our parish is growing. Please speak to Father Shibu or Margaret if you need help with food. We urge all parishioners to help by bringing any non-perishable food next week. Thank you for your generosity.
⚛ FOR SAFETY REASONS ALL
PARISHIONERS SHOULD BE ON TIME. The gates will be locked as soon as Mass starts and will only be opened once all parishioners has exited the church.. Please be vigilant.
