THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Priest:
My dear friends, on the day of her assumption Mary received the glory of the new creation. She became the image and the beginning of the church as it will be in the world to come. Let us now pray that all men may share in the glory of Christ.
Proclaimer;
May your people believe in your word, as Mary believed; stand with her beneath the cross and come with her to everlasting glory. Lord, hear us.
R: Lord, graciously hear us
May the Assumption become a sign of hope to all the world and let men know that Christ has fulfilled his work of re-creation in Mary, his Mother. Lord, hear us.
R: Lord, graciously hear us
May those who have died in the hope of the resurrection be raised up on the last day and rejoice in you forever with Mary and the saints. Lord, hear us.
R: Lord, graciously hear us
Increase our love for Mary, the Mother of your Son, and may Christ live within us all the days of our life. Lord, hear us..
R: Lord, graciously hear us.
Priest:
Lord God, help us to become like Mary in faith, love and obedience, and to play our part in the saving work of your Son. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
R: Amen.
