Manuscript requirements

Before you submit your manuscript, it is important to read and follow the guidelines below:

Format

Manuscripts submitted to ICAFE must be original, no conflicts of interests or any plagiarism issues, and are not being considered elsewhere.

Manuscript files should be provided in Microsoft Word format.

Manuscript length / word count

Manuscripts must be in English and should not be more than 10,000 words. This includes all text, for example, the abstract, references, all text in tables, and figures and appendices.

Title page (with author details)

This should include the title, authors' names, affiliations, and a complete address for the corresponding author including an e-mail address.

Anonymized manuscript (no author details)

The main body of the paper (including the references, figures, tables and any acknowledgements) should not include any identifying information, such as the authors' names or affiliations.

Biographies and acknowledgements

If you want to include these items, save them in a separate Microsoft Word document and upload the file with your submission. Where they are included, a brief professional biography of not more than 100 words should be supplied for each named author.

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract should be indented and italicized, describing the main arguments and conclusions of the article. The maximum length of your abstract should be 200 words in total, including 5 keywords in alphabetical order.

Headings

Headings must be concise, with a clear indication of the required hierarchy.

The preferred format is for first level headings to be in bold, and subsequent sub-headings to be in medium italics.

Tables and figures

All figures/tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and have clear captions. All figures should be supplied at the highest resolution/quality possible with numbers and text clearly legible.

References

All references in your manuscript must be formatted using one of the recognised Harvard styles. You are welcome to use the Harvard style Emerald.

Endnotes should be kept to a minimum, indicated by superscript figures in the text, and placed at the end of the manuscript.

Bibliographical list containing all the works referred to, in alphabetical order, to appear after the endnotes.

Copyright

It is a condition of publication that authors agree to transfer the copyright of the manuscript, including abstract to ICAFE. The transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information, including, but not limited to, print and electronic modes of dissemination. Authors must declare any sponsorship or financial ties that may cause conflicts of interests.
