The student:
i. constructs a very basic or incomplete plan that lacks logical steps and does not clearly outline time or resources for creating the Sustainable Shoebox
ii. demonstrates minimal technical skills and relies heavily on teacher assistance when making the solution
 

3–4

The student:
i. constructs a simple plan with some production details, but it is difficult for others to follow and does not fully outline efficient use of time or resources
ii. demonstrates satisfactory technical skills when making the solution, showing some accuracy but requiring support
iii. follows parts of the plan to create the Shoebox, which partially functions and is adequately presented
iv. outlines some changes made to the design and plan but gives limited reasoning.

3–4

i. You make a basic plan, but it’s not clear enough for others to follow easily.
ii. You show some technical skill, but still need some help.
iii. Your shoebox works partly and is presented in a simple way.
iv. You mention some changes, but don’t clearly explain why.

5–6

The student:
i. constructs a logical and organized plan, considering time and resources, detailed enough for others to follow and create the Sustainable Shoebox
ii. demonstrates competent technical skills and works mostly independently when making the solution
iii. follows the plan effectively to create a Shoebox that functions as intended and is presented appropriately with clear photographic and written evidence
iv. describes changes made to the design and plan during the making process and explains why these were necessary

i. You make a clear and organized plan that considers time and materials.
ii. You show good technical skills and mostly work on your own.
iii. Your shoebox works as intended and is well presented with photos and notes.
iv. You explain the changes you made and why they were needed.

7–8

The student:
i. constructs a detailed and fully logical plan that outlines the efficient use of time and resources, allowing any peer to follow and successfully create the Sustainable Shoebox
ii. demonstrates excellent technical skills, working independently and using a wide range of tools and techniques precisely and safely
iii. follows the plan consistently and systematically(doing something in an organized, planned, and step-by-step way — not randomly or carelessly) to create a Shoebox that functions exactly as intended and is presented to a high standard with detailed process documentation
iv. fully explains and justifies all changes made to the design and plan, clearly connecting them to testing, challenges, and improvements in the final product, and follows the guide and classroom instructions.

7–8

i. You make a detailed and easy-to-follow plan, using time and materials efficiently.
ii. You show excellent technical skills, working safely and independently.
iii. Your shoebox works perfectly and is presented to a high standard with clear step-by-step documentation.
iv. You fully explain and justify changes, showing how they improved your final product.
