2026: Know Your Rights Campaign
Amidst regional ICE activity, the Know Your Rights campaign has educated the community on key issues regarding legal, civic, and educational rights. Through a partnership with Patel & Samatova, PLLC, accurate information is now available in both English and Spanish for Charlotte-area residents. Local places of worships, organizations, and businesses have worked with IAYL to distribute materials across the region.
Summer 2025: Career Exploration Initiative
Over the summer, IAYL leaders worked on expanding access to career and technical education. Advocacy work on the local level resulted in measurable impact, with local policymakers recognizing IAYL's contributions.
March 1, 2025: Annual Day Volunteering Event
At this event, volunteers served as ushers, ticketing managers, and backstage helpers for Anokha Dance's Annual Day show.
December 15, 2024: Cleanup Day with Keep Charlotte Beautiful!
At this event, members cleaned up areas of South Charlotte along Providence Road. Supplies were provided for our volunteers by the City of Charlotte's Keep Charlotte Beautiful initiative.
October 27, 2024: Ballantyne Fall Festival
At this event, IAYL officers ran a booth at With Love Organization's fall festival at Ballantyne Brixam Park. Through the ring toss stand, over $100 was raised!
October 19, 2024: Fall Festivities Service Event
At this event, members carved and painted pumpkins and listened to a presentation about Diwali, incorporating elements of both American and Indian culture from two very special fall holidays, Halloween and Diwali. The pumpkins were donated to a youth group for their Fall Festival.
October 6, 2024: Hurricane Helene Relief Volunteering
At this event, members organized supplies in coordination with Operation Airdrop to aid the residents of Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. Through this rapid-response drive in early October, over 100 supplies were donated via Operation Airdrop!
August 23, 2024: Second Harvest Food Drive Event
At this event, members created posters to advertise our Second Harvest Food Drive. Additionally, boxes were prepared to be placed in local businesses for the Drive. Through the drive in September, over 500 cans were collected and donated to people in need!
June 30, 2024: Big Air Fundraiser
At this event, members had fun while raising money for an important cause. A raffle took place and over $150 was raised!
June 9, 2024: IAYL Introductory Social Event & Icebreaker
At our first ever event, members were introduced to their officer team and participated in icebreakers and other events to get to know one another.
