Hyeji Jang

Hyeji Jang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Technology at Hanyang Cyber University. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Ewha Womans University.

Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), problem-based learning (PBL), learning analytics, and AI-supported scaffolding. Her doctoral dissertation, titled "Development and Evaluation of a Generative AI Chatbot for Scaffolding in Ill-Structured Problem Solving," focused on designing and evaluating a generative AI chatbot that adaptively provides conceptual and metacognitive scaffolding to support learners throughout ill-structured problem-solving processes.

Her current research explores how generative AI and AI-based learning systems can provide adaptive and proactive scaffolding to support learners’ problem-solving processes, while fostering meaningful learner–AI interaction and learner agency.
