Hyeji Jang recently earned her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Ewha Womans University.
Her primary research interests include problem-based learning (PBL), computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), learning analytics, and technology-enhanced learning.
Her doctoral dissertation, titled "Development and Evaluation of a Generative AI Chatbot for Providing Scaffolding in Ill-Structured Problem Solving", focused on designing a GenAI chatbot that adaptively offers conceptual and metacognitive scaffolding to support learners during ill-structured problem-solving processes.
She investigated the interaction patterns between learners and the AI chatbot, analyzed problem-solving performance, and explored learners’ perceptions of using the chatbot.
Her future research aims to explore how AI can proactively provide scaffolding in learners’ ill-structured problem-solving processes.
