Jelena presented slides on Var catchment
Created a Discord channel to facilitate communications.
Supervisor + team meetings will be done via Google Meet.
High-level decisions and outputs will be documented on this site.
Next supervisor + team meeting scheduled for next Friday (15/11)

Questions for Jelena
The basic data set only shows a DEM for Saint-Matin de Vésubie. Which sub-catchment extent are we focusing on? Just the Vesubie sub-catchment?
Answer from Jelena: Yes, for the time being, please focus on the Vesubie sub-catchment.
How to create a project charter / team rules
Minutes
All pollution work will be worked on during the F2F part of HydroEurope, where there will be extra workshops.
Document things on report as soon as we work on them!
Theo raised problem: can't fully crop the DTM of merged departments. Concerned about processing problems if not addressed.
The reason the provided data is just covering Saint-Martin-Vesubie
If we are struggling to locate / work with data, you should contact Jelena.
Actions
Jelena will send out an email about engagement to the team
Attendance: Arvy, Henry, Laura, Lucas, Felix, Theo
Minutes
Lucas: I have been analysing catchment characteristics (i.e. soil). How should I present this data?
Jelena: Present this data in the report as a map (including a legend, compass etc).
Felix: What are the expectations for the first presentation?
Jelena: You have 10 minutes to briefly introduce yourselves and show the work done to date, focusing on results (i.e. catchment details, flood analysis). Be prepared to answer technical questions and not have a 'black box' approach about how the results were obtained. For example, you may need to explain the techniques used and justify why a model was picked.
Arvy: What can we do regarding land use/cover data? Are we allowed to use existing datasets e.g. CORINE.
Jelena: Datasets like CORINE are fine, but the team needs to decide if it is high resolution enough for the study. Defer to the GIS tutorials in terms of what expected techniques should be used.
No meeting for 6th December due to team members being unavailable.

Waya and Henry showed their HEC-HMS hydrological modelling to date. Very similar setup and optimisation processes. Pont Napolean III was the objective, but Waya used RMSE and Henry used NSE as the metric to minimise / maximise.
Jelena emphasised the importance of the simulation and observed flows matching in time over matching in peak value.
The peak can vary +/- 10%. It is important to not overfit to the peak.
Discussion about hydraulic modelling, particularly about which reach to model.
Hydrographs are needed as the boundary conditions for modelling. This will be produced from HEC-HMS and fed into a hydraulic modelling software.
Theo, Ana, Felix and Lucas are looking at TELEMAC. Henry and Waya will look at HEC-RAS.
Actions:
Jelena to upload data relating to the hydraulic modelling
Hydraulic modelling to be completed and written up before next meeting (14th Friday)
