Primarily deployed into Hurricanes on the east & west coast of the United States, the Caribbean, and sometimes into cyclones, as well as occasional winter storms. Missions are performed under or in the storm cloud in most instances. During missions it flies in and out of the eye of the storm multiple times.

NOAA TBM-930

Deployed into Tropical Storms, Depressions, winter storms, and some weak hurricanes. It is used for easy and shorter observations. An entry level aircraft, and a hidden gem of the fleet.

Cruise Speed: 292 Knots
Cruise Altitude: 31,000 Feet

NOAA Challenger 350

Flown at around 41,000 feet and higher above to primarily document the upper and lower level winds to help estimate the storms track. There is nothing like flying high above a storm.

Cruise Altitude: 45,000 Feet
