What do we do to investigate a storm?
When a tropical storm is significant enough to cause concern, we take note of it and watch its development on multiple weather model sources.
When deployment occurs, pilots are assigned various missions to fly. They take note of weather parameters at different locations in relation to the storms center/eye.
Pilots send their weather observations to the map plotters.
Map plotters put the weather information onto a map, supporting a visual aspect to the observations. Then, they send this to the meteorologist team.
The meterology team discusses the findings and decide what parts of the storm are more dangerous than others, compare to previous or future observations of the same storm.
Finally, when the team has come to a conclusion, warnings/notams to pilots are posted on IFC (Infinite Flight Hurricane Hunters) to be seen.
