"Track. Compete. Offset."
Greenr is a climate app where users can manage their impact in terms of carbon emission. Many functionalities are provided by this app. It calculates the footprint of your travels by car, bike, plane... It also calculate the footprint of your daily meals and you can find cook recipes that allow you to reduce your impact.
The concept is growing and more and more users are installing the app. A community is born and users share advice, ideas and tips to take actions at their scale.
Greenr has a particular message to convey and that is why we wanted to present this app. On their website, they explain:
"At Greenr we believe there isn’t a right or wrong way to live, but there is a Greenr way. We’re not about making anyone feel guilty, instead we want to reward every small positive change you make. We’ll even set challenges for you to push yourself."
...
"All are wins in our eyes, and it will be a win for your Greenr points too. Everyone has the power to educate themselves on the climate crisis and is in control of making small changes everyday to help our world become a little Greenr."
The aim of Greenr, like Eco-Tips, is to aware people of the horrible state of our environment and encourage people to take small actions. If all of us take small actions and adopt new habits that are more respectful of the environment, we will make progress.
Other actions are carried out and we would like to talk about the creation of another app with the same name as the previous project. A young French student, Ruben Longin, has developed an app that allows its users to declare waste in nature. And through the map on the app, other users can easily find the place where wastes has been detected to pick them up and throw them in a trash. A comunity also emerged and people can communicate by giving tips and advices.
Good initiatives that need to be encouraged and more visible!
