Teamwork is something that the life throws at you which you must be prepared to do and know how to deal with. Prior to High School, I hated working in teams. Even now I often dislike it, but because of the many projects I have worked on within the STEM Academy and from my now years of experience in leadership within Student Council and different school organizations, I know how to effectively use team work successfully.
Leadership is a skill that I began crafting freshman year when I discovered Student Council. I immediately fell in love with it and have now gained much experience in leading my fellow students. I have attended many leadership conferences and seminars through Student Council, such as the annual Texas Association of Student Council State Conference, as well as on my own through organizations such as SLU, or Student Leadership University. I have been able to leave these conferences with new knowledge and apply those leadership skills that I was taught in a real situation through my position in Student Council, which was taught me invaluable lessons on teamwork and delegation.

I have always been an orderly person, but nothing had ever put my organization to the test like High School. Throughout my years at Northwest, I have tweaked my organizational practices to make the most of them and stay ahead on the work I have to get done. Not only is the organization of my environment important to my success, but I also keep my to-do lists and schedules organized.
Some might say that I am a pretty creative soul, often too creative. Most of the time I come up with a crazy idea on how to do something and it has to be scaled back...way back...by my peers. Throughout High School I have learned how to control my creativity and be able to decipher which ideas are too crazy, and which ones are just crazy enough.
