The Habitat for Humanity project was for my Civil Engineering and Architecture class. After having some brief experience with Autodesk Revit, a "client" was brought into the class who shared their specific needs and wishes for a house. We then had to create and design a structure that met these needs as well as the guidelines and rules set by Habitat for Humanity.

The Habitat for Humanity project was extremely eye-opening in terms of the process for designing a home. There are so many rules, guidelines, and regulations that must be taken into account and precisely followed that it can become frustrating at times. However, it is necessary in order to ensure the safety and integrity of the structure. In addition, I gained a lot of experience in Autodesk Revit that I otherwise would not learn until college or later. All in all, I think that this project was great for building up my Autodesk ability as well as exposing me to the world of building codes that must be followed when designing a home in the modern world.

In February of 2018, I presented my Habitat for Humanity project at the annual NISD Expo. Expo is an opportunity for students off all ages throughout our district to present projects they have done throughout the year to the public.
