Ph.D. Engineering

Ph.D. Candidate, Economics

I am a Ph.D. Job Market Candidate in Economics from Florida State University.

From 2006-2014, I was a professor of Mathematical Statistics at two top schools in Venezuela: Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB), and at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA).

While I enjoyed teaching and developing statistical methods as part of my research, the economic tragedies I saw in my home country motivated me to get a Ph.D. in economics.

I wanted to attend Florida State University to work with Dr. James Gwartney who developed the Economic Freedom of the World Index and has done significant work to connect the role of institutions to economic development.

During my time at Florida State University (2014 - 2018) I have built skills and an academic reputation that I believe would be an asset to any school in the areas of Economics, Business, or Finance.

My concentrations include Economic Development, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Political Economy, Risk-Management and Insurance, and Econometrics.

I will be available for interviews at the 2019 ASSA meeting in Atlanta.
