Frequently Asked Questions / Red Flags

The first paycheck for the 2023-2024 school year is Thursday, September 7, 2023.

If you feel that there has been a violation against the contract, you should check the information in the contract. If you still feel there's a violation, you can speak to your building rep for clarification.

Ask if the meeting is exploratory or disciplinary.  You have the right to request a building rep to be in on the meeting. The building rep will take notes and stop the meeting should need be.

You should do whatever is asked. Then, you should bring it to the attention of your building rep and the HEA officers as soon as possible.

Dues are listed in your paycheck deductions as "Dues" (this is not the same as the MTRS, which is the Massachusetts Teacher Retirement System)

If you have questions regarding dues, immediately contact the HEA Treasurer, Kris Langan.

If you have questions regarding health insurance, contact the Treasurer's Office at Town Hall.

You can contact Jenn Allard (jnallard@hudson.k12.ma.us) or Emily Osborne (enosborne@hudson.k12.ma.us) at Central Office for clarification on this.

Personal days should be put into Frontline just like sick days. You do not need to say what the personal day will be used for. One personal day may be used immediately before or after holidays or vacation periods for the purpose of extending the holiday or vacation period (excluding Labor Day). Bargaining unit members may only request to extend a holiday or vacation by one day once per school year. Personal time not extending a holiday or vacation period may be used consecutively (See Article 19 A-1 of the contract).
