Who We Are
The Hudson Teachers Association, Inc. (HEA) is the professional organization of more than 280 classroom teachers, specialized teaching personnel, school counselors and nurses.
The HEA is committed to providing the highest quality public education to all students of our community. The HEA works with its members to improve educational opportunities for all students and to promote and protect the professional rights and responsibilities of its members. We seek to promote the interests of educators, uphold high professional standards, and to advance the socioeconomic well being of educators.
Union Structure
The HEA is you, the professional employees of the Hudson Public School System. The Hudson Education Association is the representative organization for the professional staff of the Hudson Public Schools, including teachers, librarians, counselors, school psychologists and nurses.
The HEA is governed by the HEA Executive Board and the HEA by-laws. The Executive Board consists of elected officers and building representatives, and chairpersons of standing committees, each of whom has one vote. Elections for officer positions are held annually, and the term of office is from September 1 to August 31. All members of the HEA are eligible to serve in these positions.
Executive Board (E-Board)
Consists of elected officers, building representatives, chairpersons of standing committees, and the chairperson of the Negotiations Team.
Responsible for the governance of the Association.
Meets the first Wednesday of every month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at Hudson High School, or at 4:00 on Zoom. During this time, suggestions and concerns of the membership are presented and discussed.
All HEA members are welcome to attend.
Building Representatives
One building representative (elected by faculty members) for every ten HEA members in each school.
Building Reps serve as liaisons between HEA leadership and the membership in their building.
Labor Management
Meets with the Superintendent monthly throughout the school year and during the summer.
The President(s), Vice President(s) and relevant parties discuss a variety of issues at these meetings.
